HOW DO YOU SELECT THE BRANDS YOU CARRY?

I research a lot. And then I research some more. I work with representatives from the brands, or their wholesale representative to ensure I am bringing in brands that align with the values of Linen & Fold.

These are just a few of the questions I ask myself when looking for a new brand/product:

  • Is this brand using eco-friendly or sustainable materials?
  • Does the brand ensure that the manufacturing is done fairly and safely in Canada? If not in Canada, is the manufacturing process fair, safe, and transparent?
  • Is this brand making a difference? Somehow, someway.
    • Are they helping to slow down fast fashion?
    • Are they helping to protect the environment and the people making the product?
    • Are they transparent in their supply chain?
    • Do they ensure no testing has been done on animals?
    • If they say they're vegan, can they prove it?
    • Are they body-positive & inclusive?

The quality of the product is also incredibly important! If a product is made well, it will last longer, which means a longer life span, so it (hopefully) won’t end up in our landfills.

I also want a product that is versatile. Versatility is huge when selecting new items. I look for pieces that are something you’ll be able to wear over and over again through the seasons and for many years to come. 

HOW DO YOU ENSURE THE BRANDS YOU CARRY ARE ECO-FRIENDLY?

Again, a lot of research! I read any and all information I can find on the brand. I look at if they are making a difference. Is what they’re doing helping or harming, and what impact are they making on our environment & global community?

I love when brands are completely transparent regarding their business. I want to know how the company is dealing with environmental issues (water reduction, recycling materials, dyes, packaging), and where they stand on ethical & social issues like diversity and inclusion, fair wages, and working conditions.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO MAKE SUSTAINABLE FASHION CHOICES?

*sigh* I don’t think it is a choice anymore, I believe it is a necessity.

Fast fashion has caused so much harm to the environment: our oceans, our landfills, and the people & communities manufacturing the garments. If we don’t start making at least small changes, then we’re only continuing to do more harm.

I promised myself when I started down this road that I wasn’t going to be judgy or shame/guilt others for their choices; rather I want to educate, highlight, showcase and show people that eco-friendly, sustainable, vegan, environmentally conscious clothing CAN be an option. 

Take small steps. Buy quality. Know where your clothing is made. Support local.

CAN I COME VISIT THE SPACE AND DO SOME IN-PERSON SHOPPING?

Hell yah! We love in-person shopping, besides smiling, it’s our favorite. ;)

We offer no-pressure try on appointments at our head office located in The Creative Hive, and then you can usually find us at pop-ups & markets around Edmonton.

Shipping & Returns

WHERE DO YOU SHIP?

We are currently shipping across Canada. We also offer local pickup in Edmonton, Alberta for those who live nearby and would like to save on shipping costs.

ONCE I'VE PURCHASED MY ORDER, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE IT?

Please allow 2-3 days for your order to be packed up and shipped. IF you need your package sent earlier, please send us an email requesting that the package be mailed ASAP, and we will do our best to accommodate.

Once your order is shipped you will receive tracking information that you can use to monitor your order as it travels your way.

CAN I PICK UP MY ORDER LOCALLY?

You bet! You can pick up your package from our head office located in The Creative Hive (16819 111 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 2S4). Just choose Pickup from our shipping menu when checking out and we'll send you a notification when your order is all packed up and ready.

I'M SENDING A GIFT AND DO NOT WANT PRICES INCLUDED IN MY ORDER. CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE THIS?

Well aren’t you the absolute sweetest! Seriously, who doesn't love receiving a gift?!

We can absolutely accommodate these types of requests. Plus, we can also include a handwritten note if you’d like. Please send an email to dawnmarie@linenandfold.com and send us the details and it would be our pleasure to help make your gift just right.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY?

Returns or exchanges may be done within 14 days from the original purchase date. To exchange or refund an item, Linen & Fold requires the article to be unworn, unaltered, clean, tags on, and in its original condition.

We do not accept returns on intimate items (undergarments, bathing suits), jewellery, or bath & body items. Sale items & second-hand pieces are non-refundable and excluded from any return or exchange.
